From the Research Lab: Design Guidelines for Buildings in UNESCO's Conservation Area / Online Lecture by Dr. Keren Metrany
In 2003, UNESCO declared the White City of Tel Aviv a World Heritage Site. Both the heart of the historic city and the buffer zone are an outstanding expression of unique modernism and early-twentieth-century architectural trends demonstrating vernacular design integrated with climate planning.
The urban planning and the distinctive architectural language of the city center have led to UNESCO's declaration, and the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality is committed to maintaining the outstanding universal value and homogeneity of the Heritage Site for future generations. But how can we protect these values in a city that never stops?
Join us for Dr. Keren Metrany's online lecture, where she presents the thinking and principles behind the urban policy for designing new buildings within the UNESCO zone.
The lecture can be accessed via Zoom > Code > 359812867 The event will also be live-streamed on our Facebook page. Activity in Hebrew.
