From the Research Lab: Garden Spaces in White City Apartment Buildings / Lecture by Dr. Ada Vittorina Segre
Dr. Ada Vittorina Segre presents her survey on the gardens of the White City. The first to reveal the unique urban landscape formations found throughout Tel Aviv’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, her study highlights locally and globally-significant findings. Dr. Segre reviews the yards of early and late international style apartment buildings, as well as gardens of former vernacular style, featuring flowerbeds inspired by the French parterre. Arch. Adi Rose will join us for a discussion on tri-spaced entry systems - the front garden, the pilotis courtyard, and the lobby - exploring the forms, the characteristics of the landscape, and their values, focusing on the significance of conservation and practical implementation of best practices.
Dr. Ada Vittorina Segra is an expert on the conservation of historic gardens and chairperson of the ICOMOS Scientific Committee on Cultural Landscapes. Adi Rose is a senior conservation architect in the Conservation Department of the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality.
You are welcome to join the event at the Liebling Haus, or tune-in online, via Zoom or Facebook Live.
