From the Research Lab: Building Additions Layer 2.0 - The Cultural Meaning of a Multilayered City
8:00 PM Israel time, 7:00 PM Central European time
The lecture reveals a new study of the Conservation Department about building additions in Tel Aviv, examining the cultural significance of building additions as an evolutionary urban development. The new element can serve as a channel for dialogue between contemporary architecture and the original architect, their ideas, and period. This intergenerational dialogue allows us to explore the connection between present-day values and those reflected in the existing structure, teaching us about current culture and our approach to the past.
Architect Amir Peleg is an architecture studio instructor at the Tel Aviv University and a partner in GalPeleg Architects.
