From the Research Lab: Toward a New Policy Paper for Mevo'ot Yafo
Program director of the Liebling Haus Sharon Golan-Yaron hosts architect Erez Ella and architect Rinat Milo of the Conservation Department of the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, who present a study on Mevo'ot Yafo. The former industrial area connecting Tel Aviv and Jaffa became a center of crafts, art, and creativity. They feature a comprehensive usage study based on extensive information gathered in the field in collaboration with various municipality departments, serving as a database highlighting the neighborhood's unique qualities. The data analysis revealed preferred routes and hours of various activities, indicating how two seemingly conflicting functions (residential and industrial) can coexist in the same area. The study was the foundation for Mevo'ot Yafo's policy paper, designed to ensure urban resilience and preserve existing uses while developing this mixed-use urban district.
