From the Research Lab: What is Changing? The City and the Climate

Program director of the Liebling Haus Sharon Golan-Yaron is hosting three speed-lectures on the climate crisis, inviting experts to present their strategies. Dr. Orly Ronen of the Tel Aviv University presents climate trends and analysis of urban vulnerability: the formation of heat islands, an increase in floods, the erosion of the coastline, and insights gained from cities worldwide. Guy Deknuydt, Climate Action Plan Coordinator at the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, presents the municipality's preparations, action plan, and preliminary implementation. Michal Nahari, a senior agronomist in the Department of Parks and Recreation operations division, presents the ecological system and infrastructure at the center of tackling climate issues and examines nature-based solutions and their implementation in the city.
