PoMo - The Post-Modern architecture style in Tel Aviv-Yafo 1977-2003- Online lecture by Dr. Jeremie Hoffmann
he political upheaval in 1977, perhaps more than any other event, marked the birth of local postmodernism. Resoling from far-reaching changes in power relations in society, including access to the national narrative and the transition from a social society to a free capitalist economy. The built space in Tel Aviv-expressed these new values with a fundamental change in both the city's perception of a multifaceted gated complex and the fabric of historical layers where conservation and innovation serve as a structured contrast that expresses the new urban image. This lecture will examine the postmodern narrative in its local meaning and review the structures/textures that represent these spatial and architectural phenomena.
