From the Research Lab: Jaffa Mon Amour / Architect Natanel Elfassy’s Online Lecture
Most buildings in Jaffa take no part in contemporary culture and architecture but instead form a complex set of anonymous structures. Some can be identified and defined according to various canonical criteria of stylistic affiliation, while the majority is a stylistic product of more complex combinations. With their architectural deformations and mutations, they function as ordinary buildings that constitute a city. Based on an ongoing study by the Conservation Department of the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, the lecture reviews buildings across Jaffa and the south side.
Architect Natanel Elfassy is a partner in AN+ Architects and a lecturer in the Department of Architecture at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.
