The Mission: Mars
Ready for lift-off: The Liebling Haus, Austrian Cultural Forum, and Lev Cafe invite you for a starlit evening. We begin with a space-themed soundtrack accompanied by drinks and food on the rooftop. We continue with the Austrian Space Forum’s presentation of AMADEE-20 – an international project taking place this October in Makhtesh Ramon, seeing a group of astronauts spending several weeks in a capsule that simulates a mission on Mars (lecture in English). Afterwards, we learn how to identify stars in the city sky and observe them through a telescope.
Program
18:00 – Assaf Yahel and Mule Driver play electronic space music; Lev Cafe offers the drinks and snacks.
20:00 – Gernot Grömer from the Austrian Space Forum and Reut Sorek Abramovich from D-Mars present AMADEE-20, the Mars simulation project in Makhtesh Ramon.
21:00 – Poet and space journalist Oded Carmeli gives a crash course on the urban night sky, including an astronomical observation with a professional telescope.
Later, you’re welcome to hang out on the rooftop for some music and chitchat.
In collaboration with the Austrian Cultural Forum.
