Urban Gardening – Practical Workshop: Tree Preservation and the Case of Ficus Microcarpa
Ficus microcarpa, one of Tel Aviv’s most recognized trees, lives for many years, and its green, leafy foliage provides a pleasant shadow. Its fruits, however, quickly turn into a slippery, sticky pulp that stains building facades. But it wasn’t always like that.
In the workshop, we examine the side effects of urban nature and why we still shouldn’t give it up and leverage the Ficus’ creative striking method to prepare cuttings of house plants.
