Book Launch: PoMo – Architecture of Privatization
Celebrating the launch of their book, PoMo – Architecture of Privatization, architects Jeremie Hoffmann and Elad Horn discuss the new architectural language Tel Aviv-Yafo adopted throughout the 1980-90s. They present examples of local postmodernist architecture influenced by Western forms and images, highlighting this style as illustrating the radical cultural shift that began with the political reshuffle in 1977 and ended in the early 2000s. The lecture will focus on several architecture firms established in the early 1980s and their various paths of adapting to the new economic-political agenda.
The evening will take place on the Liebling Haus rooftop, featuring a screening of Mikaela Burstow's photographs and a matching soundtrack of 1980-90s music.
The book will be on offer at a special price.
