Other voices of the Bauhaus

A meeting with Prof. Dr. Ines Weizman, the editor of Dust & Data, a new book that explores the Bauhaus School from the perspectives of marginalized, dislocated, silenced, and dispersed voices that have gone unheard – until now. The book features a collection of essays, interviews, and reports by leading international scholars, architects, theorists, artists, and novelists covering a time span that starts with the inception of the Bauhaus school in 1919 in the immediate aftermath of World War I and extends through several stages of dislocation to its demise on the eve of World War II.
Dr. Ines Weizman is professor of architecture theory, director of the Bauhaus-Institute of History and Theory of Architecture and Planning, and director of the Centre for Documentary Architecture (CDA) at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
Weizman and the CDA curated The Matter of Data exhibition currently showing in the Projects Room of the permanent exhibition at the Liebling Haus. The Projects Room is dedicated to exploring the question, what is the White City, inviting creators from different disciplines to actively investigate, analyze, and offer commentary on the topic.
