How has Tel Aviv handled historical disasters in the past? As we consider the current crisis, we thought it might be helpful to look back and explore other challenges the city has faced since its inception in 1909. Historian Ilan Shchori discusses the earthquake that caused havoc and casualties, the locust that swarmed Tel Aviv during World War I, the Italian bombing in WWII, and the Egyptian attack during the War of Independence.
