From the Research Lab: The Right to Housing

Content director of the Liebling Haus Sharon Golan-Yaron hosts a discussion about housing rights with planner Ella Weber from the Strategic Planning Unit of the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality’s Engineering Administration and sociologist Yaron Hoffmann-Dishon from Adva Center, a socio-economic research institute.

While housing is a basic need, a growing number of people cannot afford to live in their preferred or current place of residence in today’s reality. Hoffmann-Dishon is the co-author of a recently published research titled Housing for All, proposing to define housing as a public service that the authorities must provide to every citizen. TheMarker also published a summary of the research. The Strategic Planning Unit is currently developing a public housing policy for Tel Aviv-Yafo.
